Overcoming Nihilism

Overcoming Nihilism

In this lecture we will discuss some ideas Nietzsche thought could assist those afflicted with nihilistic doubt. Specifically, we will investigate his formula ‘become who you are’, and look into his attempt to revalue suffering.

To understand Nihilism you must grasp what Nihilism is first. Nihilism is the rejection of all religious and moral principles, often in the belief that life is meaningless. This is extremely negative and very unhealthy for one to bath in this type of thinking. For one you will become bitter, angry, and depressed. One must find a steady balance to find inner peace, and find purpose. Life with no purpose is of course meaningless. Write out things you like to do, and follow through with them. One must form his own belief system to create new reality tunnels that focus on positive things in life, such as hiking, canoeing, and other activities that produce endorphin’s in the brain. If you surround yourself with negativity and watching the news you will always find yourself being upset and angry. Many people focus on negative news and that consumes their life. They live in a mass array of fear and despair. Have you ever noticed that the news constantly tells one side of the story? The news never shows both sides and constantly leaves out details, Why is this? Because they have an agenda to make you believe one way.
